American Divers is going back to DiveQuest at The Living Seas!!

 Tired of Mother Nature ruining your dive trips??  It’s always flat and calm with 200+ feet of visibility in here!!!

DiveQuest at Epcot® allows scuba divers to live the ultimate diving experience. DiveQuest takes place daily in the Living Sea pavilion and allows certified scuba divers to dive in the Living Seas coral reef accompanied by a Disney diver.

Imagine a salt-water dive with 203 feet of visibility and over 4,000 animals native to the Caribbean swimming with you in every direction. Tropical fish, shars, stingrays, giant green sea turtles, and plenty of coral for you to enjoy is just part of the fun. In addition to this unique scuba experience you will actually become part of the show. Your family members and friends can view your dive through any of the 56 giant acrylic windows at the Living Seas. Guests between 10 and 14 years old must be diving with a parent or legal guardian.

DiveQuest lasts approximately 3 hours. Actual dive time is approximately 45 minutes. All dives are video-taped and guests are given the opportunity to view the video tape and to purchase a copy. After the dive guests also receive a certificate of completion, along with an Epcot® DiveQuest T-shirt and refreshments. All diving equipment is provided and included in the cost. Theme park admission is not required or included in the price.

All proceeds from the Dive Quest program is given to the Wild Life Conservation Fund.

 

Fascinating Fun Facts about  the Living Seas Aquarium:

  • The aquarium is filled with 5.7 million gallons of salt water.
     
  • The entire volume of the aquarium is filtered approximately every two hours.
     
  • The recipe for the artificial sea water in The Living Seas called for 27 truckloads of sodium chloride (common table salt).
     
  • Aquarium water temperature is in the mid-70s.
     
  • Green Sea Turtles breathe air and can hold their breath for up to six hours.
     
  • The aquarium is 200 feet in diameter and 27 feet deep.
     
  • The tanks at Living Seas, they are the most well-fortified building on all of property.
     
  • The Living Seas aquarium is big enough to fit Spaceship Earth inside it.
     
  • If you emptied the water from The Living Seas into one-gallon milk jugs and laid them side by side, they would stretch from here to New Orleans, Knoxville or Raleigh — 540 miles.
     
  • The window panels in the second-level observation deck measure 8 feet by 24 feet and weight 9,000 pounds each. They range in thickness from six to eight inches. This is the largest single casting of acrylic ever attempted.
     
  • There are more than 70 varieties of fish and other marine animals residing in The Living Seas, with more than 8,000 inhabitants.
     
  • The residents of the pavilion eat nearly two tons of food each week.
